Membrane Cleaners

Before the foulants can accumulate to a level where product water declines or membrane damage can occur, they should be removed by a clean-in-place (CIP) off-line cleaning. Indications of the need for cleaning include a significant decrease in normalized permeate flow, a significant increase in pressure drop across the system (or individual stage), or an increase in the normalized salt passage, such that product quality is unacceptable.

Deposit composition is heterogeneous and the active ingredients contained in the cleaner formulations are of high specificity. A cleaning treatment program, consequently, should take into account the deposit major elements as well as the cleaner properties. Without proper treatment implementation the CIP program will fail (in spite of excellent active ingredient efficiency). A rigorous evaluation will determine the most effective cleaning treatment and provide recommendation to achieve satisfactory results

ANCI offers a wide range of liquid/powder membrane cleaners, depending on the type of fouling present. A membrane cleaner can be acidic to remove mineral scale and metal hydroxide deposits with no negative effects with repeated use. Another type of organic foulants maybe present which requires the use of alkaline cleaners to remove biological slime, silts and organic matter.
